# Do I need hub rings, spacers, or aftermarket lug nuts?
## Hub rings, spacers, and aftermarket lug nuts can all play an important role in your wheel setup depending on your vehicle and goals.
When upgrading to aftermarket wheels, you may wonder if you need any additional hardware. Here is a quick breakdown of hub rings, spacers, and aftermarket lug nuts to help you understand when each one may be needed.
**Hub Rings** Hub rings, also known as centering rings or hub centric rings, are used to fill the gap between the wheel's center bore and your vehicle's hub. Most aftermarket wheels are mass produced with a larger center bore to fit a wide range of vehicles, which can sometimes cause vibrations if the wheel is not perfectly centered.
If you are experiencing vibrations after installation, hub rings may help. They are typically made of hard plastic and, once the lug nuts are tightened, they no longer serve a structural purpose.
